Week 44 of 2023 Weekly Notes

First week back from home. Energy up and down, still a lot to do.

First I caught up on lab reports for school assignments. They were boring so efficiency was a bit low. Starting Thursday I make a to-do list every day. Organizing notes is also new, so it takes extra time. I often don't finish what I planned. Next week I should lower expectations and pick the important things first.

What's important right now: one is the distributed systems course — read papers, write reading notes, start the labs, and when I get stuck in a lab I have to learn something extra, mainly Go. The other is KubeEdge: get it deployed soon, then read the source and change code, and also fill in the official docs a bit — they're too thin. Daily LeetCode has to stay.

I'm more and more sure the foundational courses have to be done well. If I have time I should also catch up on OS courses and labs, and read TCP/IP Illustrated. Too many things to learn.

This week I migrated my Mastodon, from defcon.social to the bigger instance o3o.ca. Lots of cute emoji now, and I made friends on Mastodon too. Happy!

I watched all of the LoL quarterfinals this week. The last two games I watched with English casters. Most of the time I might as well have been listening to nothing — they talk so fast — but that's something I have to go through. Go TheShy. WBG, just give it your all.
